William Leavitt Melodic Minor Scale Fingerings
William Leavitt melodic minor scale fingerings are derived from the Berklee major scale fingerings as shown in A Modern Method for Guitar Volumes 1, 2 and 3. The melodic minor scale fingerings modify the 3rd degree from the major scale fingerings by lowing it one half step (one fret).

These nine modified major scale fingerings are most practical. Types 1, 1A, 2, 3 and 4 are the five most used minor fingerings as presented in A Modern Method For Guitar Volume 2. The remaining positions are presented in A Modern Method For Guitar Volume 3.
